 ALV Grid
Can anybody recommend a good book, which explains thoroughly how ALV Grid works. I always seem to be coming across new bits I haven't encountered before.

I have found the the book titled 'Controls Technology' Workbench Edition (SAP AG P.O. Box 1461 D-69190 Walldorf (WWW.SAP.Com). It has helped me with understanding and developement of quite a few reports and dialog transactions. Regards, Jen

I don’t know of any books, but there is a descent article in the Nov/Dec 2000 issue of the SAP Professional Journal, “Developer’s Guide to ALV Grid Control”. It’s a little outdated, but might provide you some info. I also have an ALV Developer Guide put out by SAP that’s about 180 pages long and goes into more detail, but I can’t remember where I downloaded it from. I don’t think we can do attachments here, so if you want this document I can e-mail it to you…..

Jen,
Thanks for the pointer on that book, I will try and track down a copy.
Though if I have to order from SAP, it could take a while. I have been waiting 6 weeks for a book on HR.

rkohler,
Apologies, I don’t know your first name, but I would indeed appreciate it, if you could email that guide to me. I am on Hugh.Boyle@T-Mobile.co.uk

Thanks again to both of you, and looking forward to reciprocating one day !!

Hugh

Jen & Rich,
Thanks again for the developer guide, and I got a copy of the Controls book.
Just to let you know, I delivered a complex Bonus Calculation system, which was run within ALV grid, and it cut months off the old system (Excel).
I probably couldn’t have done it without those documents.

Thanks,
Hugh
