Does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives to adobe professional that match some of the features, specifically with the manipulation, creation, etc. of pdf documents?

OpenOffice.org allows you to export or ‘print’ PDFs. Editing PDFs.. well I don’t know of anything that gives you all the features of Acrobat.

    Try FoxIt software (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/). Its a lot lighter in terms of processing, faster loads and a lot cheaper. Lots of functionality too.
