We have Lotus V7. We have our mail servers at our central office. All guys at central office are directly connected to the domino server. the issues is now with our branch office with 500+ users. We have only a 4Mbps links between these offices and want to ensure all users at the branch office has a mail replica and use only replication. Now the issue is that many of the users are directly opening thier mail boxes from the central server through this small bandwidth and effectively chocking the bandwidth. Is there any feasible method to allow the users only to access the server via replication alone instead of opening the mail boxes directly from the server. (We tried user awareness but with little luck:) Any quick help will be really appreciated. Vish

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Can I assume that you have set their location documents to point to the local mail file?

If you really want them to be local then a little coding in the mail file can redirect them to the local copy anytime they open the mail file. In the database script you can see if they are on the server and redirect them to the local mail file.

Hi Bruce, Thanks for the update. Our problem is the location document is editable by users. Can i set policy in the domino server to restrict this ? Also when you are mentioning about the script which will always direct the user to his local replica, would you be kind enough to share it or give some directions how to do it ? Thanks.
