 Allowing Application Server to relay message – Exchange 2003
Exchange 2003, SMTP Exchange 2003
I have an aaplication server that I have granted permission to relay emails through our SMTP Virtual Server. WHen ever I try to send a message from the aaplication I get the following error message:

550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for xxx@xxxx.com

Failed when sending RCPT TO: xxx@xxxx.com

bad_address: xxx@xxxx.com

I know the email address is good, because it is my home email I am using to test with.

If anyone can help me out here it would be really appreciated.

On the Exchange server SMTP virtual server you say you set up the application to relay through your exchange server. Did you put in the IP of the sending server with approval for relay?
