I agree with MShen that the more mainstream Cisco professional certs (CCNP and CCDP) probably make the most sense for those looking for direction from elsewhere. Only those who already know they’re strongly interested in other specialties–VoIP, Security, or ISP/Carrier topics for CCVP, CCSP, and CCIP respectively–should take these other paths instead.

I recommend working on yourself - improving your communication skills, setting goals, taking a course in time management, etc. - and getting hands-on experience. This stuff will take you waaay farther in your career and contribute more to job security and money than any cert/degree/etc. ever will. I’m not saying certs are bad. Just don’t rely on them for money and job security.
