I'm adding a domain controller on an existing domain. I'm getting a massage stating that "Will not be able to install a read-only domain controller "adprep/rodcprep" was not yet run. How and should I run it?

Software/Hardware used:
Server 2008 R2

There are different versions of Adprep.exe for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2. When you run it, it must be run ADPREP from an elevated command prompt. To open an elevated command prompt, click Start, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. Ensure that, adprep must be run on the Schema Master of a forest and under the credentials of someone in the Schema Admins and Enterprise Admins groups. Must sure keep a copy of 32-bit version of the Windows Server 2008 installation DVD. U cannot use 64-bit version of the installation media to run ADPREP on 32-bit versions. Coz Windows Server 2008 installation media is 64-bit by default. Look here for Deployment and Pre requisites
