I was wondering if anyone else has had problems opening PDF links in IE8 when using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit with Adobe 9 Standard. I applied Adobe's "fix"- to change the PDF Internet Settings within Adobe to make it so PDF's do not open in browser but download externally. This works for some links, however some of the sites we go to generate the PDF through activeX with user defined scopes. These links just open to a blank page, the user has to click the link four or five times before the PDF is created and is viewable. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue completely?
Software/Hardware used:
Windows 7 x64, Adobe 9 Standard, IE8

No thank you. Adding the sites to Compatibility has worked for all of the sites so far. I am holding off on the Hotfix until the first solution does not work. I know Win7 is releasing their first SP within a few months so hopefully this will continue to work until then. Again thanks so much.
Win7 SP1 will be released next Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011.
Woot! Hopefully they get it right. I will probably wait a month and listen to what people say about it.
Agreed – I know several that didnt move to winXP untill SP2 was released..
Ya sometimes takes them a few tries before getting it right. I can’t say that isn’t true for myself as well when writting code
Again thanks for the help all, the compatabily really has worked. I feel like an idiot for not thinking about it but really IE8 has been out for so long I had sort of forgotten about it. Cheers.
