Adding group ACLs to a Notes/Domino database
I have developed an internal Domino database and deployed it on one of our servers in India. I wanted to know how to use the groups defined in our corporate address book for database ACL, what the steps are and what the prerequisites are for using groups in a database. I can add users defined in our corporate address book by simply searching for them and clicking "add" in my database ACL. However, I am facing some challenges while adding group ACLs to this database. I have a mailing group defined in my address book. We also have a mailing group "Lab Services & Solutions-India" defined in our WW Public Distribution List database, which is replicated to our corporate address book every day. I want to use this group to define access permission's in the internal Domino database hosted in our ISLPune Server. I tried adding the entry in the database ACL as a group, but that is not working. I checked with our Notes/Domino administrator regarding the ISLPune server, but he mentioned that since the corporate address book is not replicated to this server, it would not be able to resolve names present in this mailing group. The option of recreating a group in the ISLPune server would not help as every time a change is made on the original group list, changes would need to be made manually, and the updates would not be replicated. Do we have option of replicating our IBM address book, and also, would that be helpful provided we have a group defined in the WW Public Distribution List database? We need to roll out this database asap, can anyone sugges tot me a possible workaround to create/replicate/use the mailing group for the database.
