Can we add an expiration date to a optical disk rendering it useless after a specific date? We also need to prevent users from rolling back the clock to fix the issue.

I suppose if you encrypted everything you want to protect and included a program that decrypted and presented the data, but only after contacting a remote site and retrieving a date-seeded decryption key, and also invented a way to prevent screen-captures and other intermediate access methods, you’d get pretty close.
When you work out the process, patent it.

Didn’t somebody a few years ago try to market a one use CD or DVD for movie/music rentals that would degrade when exposed to air so that after 48 hours or so they could not be read?
