Q:
Adding an email account to the Global address List
I have a user that can send and receive email, but he does not show up on the Global Address List, the "Hide from exchange address lists" in properties is not checked, how do I add him to the Global Address list?
Thank You!

Cached Exchange mode updates the GAL usually on a daily basis. If you want to see immediate changes to the GAL you need to turn off Cached Exchange mode. If you need you can turn off Cached Exchange mode, do a send and recieve, then turn it back on.

The user’s name does not show up on any other computers. The account was in active for a while (I had checked the “Hide from exchange address lists” box. The name used to be on the list before checking the box) and now it does not show up (after unchecking the box).
Frustrating.

The name is now showing up on OWA as well a few other systems. Perhaps it just took awhile for the other clients to update their cache. I unchecked the cached mode on the account settings for one system and the name appeared. I’m going to wait and see if the other systems update.
