 Adding a user to Directory Entries
ADDDIRE, AS/400 security, AS/400 user administration
Hi, I want to add an user to directory entries. I used the command ADDDIRE. Now i am facing problem in entering the user id parameter. It permits till 8 characters only. but the user profile name is 9 characters long. What shall i do now? Shall i create a new user ? Thanks

Hi, You don't need to create another user Id - the user Id in the ADDDIRE command is only used for sending / receiving (using SNDNETF or SNDNETSPLF). There is another parameter where you fill in the real user profile name. Regards, Martin Gilbert. Sangay, The USER parameter on the ADDDIRE is what needs to match the User Profile on your system. It is 10 characters long. Hope this helps, Bill Poulin
