Adding a second Exchange server to domain
Sorry for coming with an old question but I don't know what I setup wrong. I have an Exch1 sever and I added a second exchange server Exch2. The second one can be seen in System Manager. Now: 1. Exch1 has as smarthost an external SMTP con and users on it can send and receive e-mails inside and outside, but not to Exch2's users; 2. First, Exch2 couldn't send e-mails to EXCH1 users or outside, so I setup Exch1 as Smarthost and now it can send e-mails everywhere, but can't receive from Exch1 or outside; 3. Exch1 can't send messages to Exch2; 4. From outside no e-mail reach the Exch2's mailboxes. What I did wrong? On the Internet I saw that it is OK just to add the second Exch2 to the domain and it should work. The master server of the Default Routing group should know where the mailbox are located and to send the messages accordingly. Thank you!

I would suggest you add a front end server to your configuration. Thank you for your answer! Sorry for my late reply but I was in vacation. Regarding this proposal, it is a good idea, but I succeed to find in Internet another solution, which looks for me more easier to deploy: 1. Create a SMTP routing connector which has as smarthost the External SMTP connector. 2. This SMTP routing connector has both servers Exch1 and Exch2 as bridgeheads. 3. In Exch1 server the Smarthost should be removed from the original setting in Default SMTP Virtual Server. In this way the communication works between Exch1 and Exch2 and to and from outside.
