Q:
Adding 25 User Cals to MS Exchange 2003
I currenlty have MS Exchnage 2003 setup w/ 50 user cals. I need to increase to 75, so I ordered 25 more user cals for Exchange 2003. How do I add the additional 25 user cals to MS Exchange 200?

Thank You

Software/Hardware used:

There is not a "license" tracking mechanism in Exchange. You just need to file the CAL documentation with the existing 50 CAL documentation. It will need to be produced if your organization is audited for software license compliance.

You say Windows server 2003. Standard?, Small Business? The CALs you purchased are for allowing users to login and get mail. Did you get a Activation Key with the CALs? If so you’re running Small Business Server 2003. Enter that key in Admin Tools/Licensing and activate them. If no key then you’re running windows server 2003, go to licensing and add 25 licenses per seat or per server, whichever suits you’re needs.
