We currently have an order entry program that lists items on an order and you can position to an item via a field in the CTL area. My question is I need to be able to add items to an order by keying in items, qty, etc from the bottom of the screen. The order header info needs to be on top of the screen. Can anyone give me some code examples. I keep running into errors in my dds. Thank you.

Why not try something simple like adding a function key at the bottom of the subfile (F6=Add comes to mind). When F6 is pressed, have it bring up a window that allows you enter the item information that you need. When each item is succssfully updated, blank out the fields to prepare for the next record. When you are finished entering the item information, press F12 to return to the reloaded subfile and the new items should appear.

As I see it you would need an extra Format displayed on the bottom of the screen to allow for input. You need to make sure that the "Bottom" format does not occupy the same positions as your subfile. In the high level language you would hat to use write and read opcodes rather than EXFMT op code. The file to program fields on the DDS can be used in your HLL program to determine where your cursor is placed, however this is not a necessity. Also RSTDSP should be *YES.

Thanks all for your suggestions. Pdraebel's method is what I was looking for. That is what I needed. Thanks again.
