It had 5 different pieces of malware across dozens of files some of which I’m still trying to remove. Low and behold her anti-virus software expired three months ago.

You should pay attention to them, as stated by Labnuke, since they put your machine at risk. You will probably need to update/patch the OS and/or some of the programs you have installed to get rid of those ‘active’ threats.
