Hi,

I need help with copying shortcuts via AD. Currently, I can create a shortcut on user's desktops belonging to a specific security group by using this in the Notes field of the group properties:

csc "desktop", "Clinical", \servershareshortcut.url, "folder", ""

However, I would like to copy a shortcut to place on the desktop instead of creating one. The application being used has a certain icon I need to use instead of it being a folder or generic icon.

Many thanks in advance!

I don't think that AD can set the shortcut icon however if you were to package the shortcut up with the icon file and use something like Winstall LE to make it an MSI you may be able to get around this. Be careful though, you may end up changing the icon for every .lnk file if you mess up.
