When I try to copy files from an XP machine in my network, I often get access denied on certain files, but not others even though those folders are marked shared.
It seems that some attribute is set on some files and not others. I've asked this question to more than 100 people, and nobody has ever given me a helpful answer. They also say check permissions. When I ask what permissions, they say "I don't know." Well how can permissions cause one file to copy while the other does not??? Therefore, there must be some file attribute issue that applications are creating. And, even that doesn't make sense, because it's often the same application creating files that do copy and those that don't.
If anybody can shed some light onto this insanity, I will be most greatful.
Thanks.
