The query searches a table looking for three fields, one of which is the Year. The year parameter request works just fine [Year as yyyy]. The query then goes on and asks for a second parameter for a field that was not included as a requested field. Any hints given are appreciated - thank you wem3rd

Tom, OK. so I am not current, but the problem is a big one for me. IAll SQL looks good so I fear some VB code is screwed up and I am not capable of vetting to that degree. wem3rd

It's not that you're not current. It's that Access 2003 wasn't supported on Win 98. (At least, not a few years ago.) I wanted to be sure that there wasn't something more to the development environment. . But I suppose it's possible that something made it available and I didn't know about it. A potential problem is that it might be extremely difficult (or effectively impossible) for anyone to determine what's wrong or how to fix it. . Tom

Tom, The entire scenario is that I have a report that is displays info from a query. The report is called by a macro. If I run the query directly, no problem. If I open the report, the included parameter is requested but then one or more other parameters are asked for that are not part of the query. Weird or what? wem3rd

Tom, I tried to make the report work a dozen times with no success. I recreated the file and imported its MS Word document and all works just fine now. Win 98 to the rescue! Must have been a glitch in the original importing of the MS Word document. wem3rd
