Access 2003 default record locking

I'm working with a multi-user Access system. When I change the default record locking option via Tools/Options/Advanced and then save the database, the other users still have the original setting for record locking, i.e. the change I have made is not shown on their machines. Shouldn't the change I have made be stored with the database and therefore become the default for other users?

I would have thought so also. I found an interesting tidbit while looking at the Access Help for record locking. At the very end of the Help topic it says, “This setting takes effect the next time you open the Access database, but you must use the Open command on the File menu rather than the list of most recently used files at the end of the File menu.” Which method are you using to open the database? Maybe it makes a difference.
