Logical Files
Physical File
I have a physical file and a logical file, on that physical file in a library and now I want to copy the object of that physical and logical file to another library. I copied the object of the physical file to another library which happened good but when I am copying the object of the logical file it is not getting copied to another library and I am getting a error message like: 'CANNOT CREATE DUPLICATE FILE IN LIBRARY ' I searched in the destination library whether there is any file with that file name but I didn't find any file with that name. Help me in this. Thanks in advance.

There are different ways to "copy" things. We can't guess about what you tried to do. You need to show us the actual commands that you used so we know what you did. . Then, the error message text that you showed us almost is no help at all. If you had copied the exact text, I might have been able to guess which error message you received. But DBCS English might be the only likely message that has all upper-case text, and I don't have DBCS English. So, you need to let us know what the message ID is. . If we get information from you that we can use, we might be able to help. . Tom

If you copy a PF from one library to another, I am guessing you want to do a CRTDUPOBJ of the LF so it will point to the new PF. A CPYF of a LF will copy data.
