 Dell Optiplex GX270 abnormal shutdown
Dell Optiplex, Dell Optiplex GX270, System shutdown problem, Windows XP
MY OPTIPLEX GX270 SHUTS DOWN EVERY TIME WHILE REBOOTING,SHORTLY AFTER WINDOWS XP LOGO COMES UP.  I HAVE REPLACED THE POWER SUPPLY WITH NO CHANGE.  WHAT IS WRONG?

If it is under warranty I would get on the phone with Dell support. They will likely have you reseat the memory and video card to start with. You can try that and see if it resolves the issue. The rest is up to you and support. This could be any number of issues.

Sounds like maybe heat – can you verify that the CPU heat sink has not broken loose from the CPU or maybe a fan is not working correctly?
