A False Email?

A company claim they sent me an email on the 12th August. They later sent me a supposed copy with a date & time stamp. I never received the email & neither did my own server receive it. The company say their Dublin office sent the email to me but it was routed through their server in Switzerland & the MS Outlook account connection to the server had failed. Hence the failure to send the email on to me. Are they telling the truth or am I being spoofed? Would the Dublin office not also have a local server additional to a Swiss server? Could the Swiss server confirm any of this?

What is the content of the supposed e-mail? Sounds like a scam.

There is no way to know, nor even make a reasonable guess, from what you've shown so far. Nothing sounds unusual, and that's especially because we have no idea what the sender knows about how e-mail services work. The sender might not know anything about what evidence to show you.

Is there a problem that arose from you not receiving an e-mail? There is no guarantee of receipt of e-mail.
