Friends, i am using 1gb ram, 80 gb hard drive, i am trying to install 9i on my desktop pc of above config. After the installation of database, before installation of configure tools, oracle db configuration assistant and oracle intelligent agent are failed to install..(The first two were installed successfully..ok)i tried multiple times but in vain. There is an error message displayed as "invalid END header format"..can u tell me what this problem is..i need it hurry...I am not great with this 9i.
To mention u..i am using 9i only..not 9i personal to install on my desktop...are 9i and 9i-personal different versions? Is that true?

Also, the installation files could be corrupt.
If you downloaded the software, try downloading it again if you have already checked what Jcmdba mentioned.
Ya, now i came across that problem, i tried it with a different set of cd-roms, and i am successful now! also i am a big fan of Linux, i can surprise my friends with an Oracle installed in my fedora 7, so kindly suggest a version of Oracle, that best suits Fedora 7 or Fedora 10. I ll be very thankful to you…
For educational purposes, you could install Oracle Database 11g
And here is an installation guide:
