 5250 job initiation
ACQUIRE, RPGLE, workstation
Can anyone remember how to start a job (e.g. and enquiry) on a 5250 workstation either from another session, releasing that session, or from a submitted job.

 

I have used ACQ and REL in the dim distant past but cannot member  if this is possible.

In an RPG program you can use ACQ to acquire another workstation. The device must be at the signon screen.

I also used some of that ACQ technique in lognforgotten times. Wasn’t there a special requierement (setting) when compiling the display. If I am not mistaken, something to do with the DEV and MAXDEV parameters.
