I am looking for any suggestions on the best 5250 emulation software for android devices (phones and/or tablets). I have looked at Microsoft, but am curious if there are others available, if anyone has used them, and if there are only certain platforms of android they work on. Any help greatly appreciated!!! :)

Other than Mocha TN5250 and Mocha TN5250 Lite, the only Android app that I'm aware of that somewhat handles a 5250 data stream is T400 telnet. It's more for VT100. But both VT100 (and VT200 and VT220) and 3270 are acceptable to AS/400 series systems; you usually just need to set appropriate keyboard mapping, e.g., with the SETVTMAP, 'Set VT Keyboard Map', command for VT100 or SETKBMAP for 3270.
    .
Note that Mocha 5250 Lite is the only 5250 emulator I've personally used on Android.
