Hi all, hope you are well. I have a 3rd party VLAN on our network which has a server that does reporting for a specific department. Currently several users on the main company VLAN have access to the server via RDP and configured Access Control Lists on the core to run the reports. But more and more people require access and I am looking at a better solution as I don't want to always make changes to the ACLs. Will a separate firewall between the VLANs be a better choice? Or which other method? I have a Cisco network in place. Many Thanks

Hi, it seems I have managed to answer my own question. I bought a firewall and had interface in 3rd Party VLAN (WAN) and one in normal network (LAN). Had issues with current ACLs so had to add one in to allow access for firewall and then had to add a route to the 3rd Party VLAN on local pcs pointing to the new firewall. On the server itself i had to change the default gateway to that of the new firewall
