Hi, I am using 2003 server SP2 with DC, AD and exchange 5.5 insatlled. Now I have a new server to replace the oldDC. I have created different machine name to joined the oldDC domain and transfered AD users and exchange mail boxes to my new machine. The problem is I cannot demote the oldDC server. I have tried to seized all roles and updated the newName.domain.dns to the new server IP address. Unfortunately, I still got exchange services error (cannot start all exchange services) when unplug oldDC and point the DNS of new machine to itself. Does anyone has idea about this? Pls help to fix my issues. Kenneth

If you have moved all mailboxes to the new server, why don’t you uninstall exchange from the old one?
