Hello Firedrake,
if you need to access your HD by booting with an external device, I strongly suggest you to use the [A href="http://www.ubcd4win.com/"]UBCD4WIN[/A] (Ultimate Boot CD For Windows) that enables you to boot with a diskless WindowsXP that can be used to access your hard drive, then you can select if to move your data to a network path or burn a cd/dvd.
I hope this helps

Hey,
Good post.I've been looking for an answer to a problem I've been having w/my laptop.Well, the problem is my fault. I down loaded a bunch of freeware utilities and op's , and I mean a lot, and my system went into driver overload.I've been looking for a way to boot from USB but haven't yet found anything. The only other options I'm left w/are to pull the hard-drive and set it up as a secondary drive so i can pull the info from it or re-partition and lose all my data(30GB worth). Thanks for the ppost. I'll check it out. If you have any other ideas that might help me, I'd really appreciate it. I can be reached at bthomson@email.itt-tech.edu.
