Here we go again

I remember when Windows Genuine Advantage came out, I remember when I had a flood of calls from clients about why Microsoft was telling them they were running illegal versions of Windows software (even when they weren’t), I remember the pains, and I remember the headaches and you know what it’s all going to happen again.

Look I understand that piracy is an issue, and I understand that Microsoft, like any other company out there want to make sure they are getting paid for their product. Bill Gates did create a charity, but it wasn’t Microsoft.

However they have got to get better about the way they identify the villains here. Our justice system is based on the principal that it is better for 100 guilty to go free then for one innocent to go to prison. Maybe Microsoft should try to adopt this policy for WGA.
