Hi folks! As I mentioned before, one of the best ways to have a fast laptop is to buy one with an SSD drive in it.

Having an SSD drive will help with those boot times and with resuming your laptop from hibernation/sleep modes. However not all of you are fortunate enough to own a laptop with SSD, and not everyone wants to spend the coin on a new laptop.

If your current laptop supports upgrading to an SSD drive, you can take advantage of the budget SSD drives from Kingston. The Hyper-X 3K SSD.

Hi folks, so as you may have heard , today was the last day to upgrade BES to the latest version and be eligible for the free PlayBook.

I’m not sure how many people took advantage of this offer but I’d love to see the numbers. RIM’s recent quarterly results indicate that things haven’t been going well, and i hope they have more good deals like this in the next quarter to help spur on new business.

The biggest thing will be attracting young mobile phone buyers who are flocking to the iPhone and Android platforms. RIM has to find a way to become relevant again. Here’s hoping they figure this out, as I want to see this company stick around to provide competition to Apple and Android.

My problem? Some people are still using Windows XP. You know in my line of work I am still running into a lot of Windows 7 installs. I wish people were quicker on the uptake to the latest operating system. Microsoft is already talking about Windows 8 and people need to realize that gone are the days of staying with an operating system for an extended period of time.

If you want to keep up with technology you need to upgrade. Try out Windows 7 if you haven’t yet, you won’t regret it!

Hi folks! So in this day and age gigabit is considered pretty normal. Gigabit switches are cheap and 100 Mb switches are considered old news.

So it’s funny when people run across old environments with 10 Mb hubs kicking around. Now that’s ancient! It’s amazing to see that people will spend a ton of money on that big screen tv in the front reception area of their business but will not shell out a few dollars to upgrade their network.

As a network guy I find this hilarious and scary all at the same time. After all, if they won’t upgrade their networks, what level of security do they have for their data?

Business owners should understand that IT security is extremely important these days when we all use computers in some shape or form.
