One of the more common questions these days are on the benefits of SSD drives. Should you get one or should you stick to the drives you are used to?

Well ssd drives are great in notebooks due to their lack of moving parts, are they good in desktop machines? I personally think they are quite overpriced, and not really needed in machines where you are just using Office or Internet browsing.

However due to their good performance times, they are good in performance computer applications such as gaming as long as you can stomach the steep price.

One of my favorite SSD drives is the OCZ Vertex 2 series. They have great reviews and you can get smaller ones for a more affordable price than some of the larger units.
