Running longer network runs

Hi folks! So here is a common issue. People trying to run longer network runs in their networks. What do you do when you have to go past 330 ft and ethernet isn’t the answer?

Well you use fiber of course! The question is what type of fiber? There are so many variants to choose from. Cisco has a nice guide on what to choose based on what distance you need to go.

You can reference this guide here. Then all you have to do is buy the right GBICS for your switches and have a reputable company run your fiber for you and that’s all there is to it.
