Hi folks! Fresh off my A-Series course, I wanted to talk a bit about HP’s Intelligent Resilient Framework, otherwise known as IRF.

IRF is functionality built into the HP A-Series line of switches that is much like Cisco stacking technology. This allows you to join multiple switches and avoid the use of spanning tree.

What’s great about IRF? The ability to use all of your redundant links actively and achieve less than 50ms reconvergence times!

This is a great technology and I urge you to read more about it here.
