BlackBerry’s Future for the Enterprise

Hi folks! So based on the latest news from BlackBerry, everything is up in the air.

Nobody knows what’s going to happen and rumors are abound all over the Internet. Will someone buy them? Will they be parted out? Will they fade into obscurity? All I know is that if you’re investing in a new mobile platform for your business, I would stay away from BlackBerry for the time being.

Without any sort of certainty, you can’t be assured of support from the company no matter what they say. Instead I would focus on the Apple and Android platforms and play it safe.

However if you already own and use BlackBerry in your enterprise, then all you can really do is adopt a wait and see approach and have a backup plan just in case things go wrong.

If you’re a home user of BlackBerry, this is less of an issue for you, replacing a single phone in your family isn’t the end of the world. But if you’re in the Enterprise and you have thousands of BlackBerries deployed, this could definitely affect your IT plans.
