BES 4 to 5 Upgrade woes

Hi folks, have you taken the plunge and upgraded to BES yet? Apparently a lot of people have had issues with the upgrade.

I wanted to address one issue I’ve run into that has a simple fix. The issue happens when upgrading from 4.1.7 to BES 5. The controller service fails to start and the error codes don’t match anything you can find in BlackBerry’s knowledge base.

Even with all the permissions set correctly and following the install guides to the letter, no mail flows. The simple solution? Install BES 5 service pack 1. This fixed the problem instantly!
