MTS sells Allstream

Hi folks, for those of you from Canada you might find this news of interest. MTS has sold off the IT consulting portion of their Allstream division!

MTS is one of the largest telephony players in the province of Manitoba and they have an IT division called Allstream. They’ve decided to sell it off but keep their Winnipeg employees according to what I read in the paper.

Anyways, I wonder why they’ve decided to do this? Is this a result of the economic downturn or some other play? Time will only tell. It should be interesting to see what the buyer (Pricewaterhouse Coopers) does with this acquisition.
