All of the companies I have consulted with or worked for have continued to call it the AS/400 or 'the 400'. I have tried using the most current name whenever IBM has changed it but have given up. From now on, it's just the '400.

I, personally, like the name iSeries. That being said, one problem I have found with all the renames is the increasing difficulty of finding help on the web. By that, I mean that my search strings are getting longer (as/400, iSeries, System i etc.) which also affects the search results. To IBM: ENOUGH ALREADY!!

Through all the iterations, we have continued to call it 'the 400'.
What do us IT types care about marketing naming conventions? KISS.

Vote me AS400. Or like Jack said, "the 400". Even our non-technical users call it "AS400"!

How about a survey over what name this machine is primarily known by at each person's company? (Maybe IBM would look at the results. Or not.)

What did I miss? We have been calling it the AS/400 all along.

Do you mean that anyone actually assisted IBM in their methodical, misguided, maniacal, mistaken, moronic, marketing-driven, server non-differentiation?

Nobody I talk to DOESN'T call it AS/400...
