In reality, these "stimulus packages" aren't going to help at all. When the federal government "spends" billions (and now a trillion) dollars of taxpayer money that doesn't even exist, it only makes the situation worse. The platform has been merged ... so of course if IBM has chosed to put the new combined revenue in the "p" column then the "i" column will essentially go to zero. That says nothing about how well the IBM i operating system is doing or how much of the Power Systems sales are driven by the "i" operating system. It could very well be down from last year but I don't think we have enough information in the IBM numbers to accurately say. But to write such a misleading headline is I think irresponsible.
