I swear iOS 4.2 was just released, I am still running iOS 4.1 and do not plan to go to iOS4.2 for a little bit, the phone works fine. My guess is that they want to stop Jailbreaker’s or at least discourage them.

What’s does that have to do with iOS4.3? It’s going to let users subscribe to applications. That’s a crucial ingredient if you want to build a publication and need a constant stream of income. Many people have been saying that Apple should do to newspapers and magazines what they did to music. With iOS 4.3, if these rumors are to be believed, then it’s going to happen sooner rather than later.

Below is an insert from the Daring Fireball

Rupert Murdoch, head of the media giant News Corp, and Steve Jobs, the chief executive of Apple, are preparing to unveil a new digital “newspaper” called the Daily at the end of this month, according to reports in the US media.

I don’t know if I like the idea of paying for a subscription, now if we get a lot of content then it might be okay, but most of the 99c apps do not have the most content in them, thus they are only “99c one time”. The expected release date is December 13th 2010, yes this year.
