What is being dubbed the best tablet on the market today (well it’s not quite here yet) is almost ready to be released to the masses. Some stores even have demo units of the Transformer Prime. What I hear is that it will be release December 19th, but some say December 8th or 12th, so I am not too sure what to believe. geek.com states a US release date of December 19th, so I will have to go with that. I already pre-ordered two of them, so lets hope it makes it in time for my trip to Las Vegas on the 25th! I can give you a nice little review in January. Here are the specs. Note that it is a Quad Core CPU, but has a 5th core to deal with mundane background tasks, I believe this is how it can get 12 hours of battery life while having a 1.4Ghz Quad core powerhouse processor.

I also wanted to include this link where it shows the Transformer Prime running Ice Cream Sandwich OS. So this Christmas holiday I have 2 things to be really excited for, the new Asus Transformer Prime, and my Vegas trip. Merry Xmas to me!

**UPDATE** Dec 7th 2011

It Doesnt look like the Transformer Prime will hit stores on the 15th like they wanted. Apparently and I have seen this at 2 sources already, the WIFI on model TF201 didn’t meet Asus’ quality standards and they are working on a solution. This can’t be good. I know Apple put their WIFI antenna behind the plastic “Apple” logo to boost their WIFI signals… What is Asus going to do?
