If you are one of MANY people having battery life issues with your iPhone 4 or 4s, then you have come to the right place. Apple is apparently aware of some issues causing the drain. The patched OS 5.0.1 Beta works with all iOS devices from the iPod Touch (3rd Gen.) to the iPad 2 (WiFi Edition). I included an insert from engaget.

Well that didn’t take long. After officially commenting on iOS 5′s battery woes, Apple’s gone and issued a beta of iOS 5.0.1 for developers to help fix the flaw. Per the changelog, build 9A402 fixes bugs relating to battery life and iCloud document syncing, improves voice recognition for Aussies and re-enables multitasking gestures on the original iPad. That last item is of particular interest to iPad devs, who had their ability to enable four-finger gestures unceremoniously yanked by Apple in iOS 5′s final release. We welcome these goodies with open arms, but here’s hoping universal Siri support comes in iOS 5.0.2.

Remember this is still just a developer release. Soon to be released to the general public. I’ll be sure to keep you all up to date.

Today is a sad day. Steve Jobs has passed away. Yeah I said I disliked Apple, “Just Because” but Steve Jobs was an amazing business man, and brought Apple from near extinction to what it is today. Who knows where the company will go from here. It all makes sense as to why he stepped down as CEO, he must have know it would be his last days. Take a moment and remember him, and also take a look at yourself, life is too short… go and live it!

“The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come. For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor,” Gates said. “I will miss Steve immensely.”

Well it seems from reading a few different posts, that Samsung is trying to put a stop to the release of the iPhone 5, which is supposed to be announced this Tuesday, October 4th. Here is in insert from International Business Times.

On Oct. 4, Apple will host the media at its Cupertino, Calif. headquarters to unveil the long awaited iPhone 5, and have a release date just days (maybe weeks) later. It will be a coronation of sorts for new CEO Tim Cook, who will face the public for the first time in Apple’s post-Steve Jobs era. But Apple’s prodigal brother will be there to spoil the party.

Samsung, according to reports, will pursue a complete sales ban on the fifth generation iPhone using various wireless patents of Samsung. “For as long as Apple does not drop mobile telecommunications functions, it would be impossible for it to sell its i-branded products without using our patents”, The Korea Times quoted a Samsung insider as saying.

Does Samsung have something here? They just might, but then again, Apple is quite persuasive and I think they will take their chances and release the iPhone 5 anyways. If they sell enough, I am sure no lawsuit from Samsung can’t be paid off!

I’m not a big Mac fan, nor am I a fan of Apple products… for example I am using a 3 yr old blackberry and am probably about 200% more efficient with my communication, including emails, text messages, blackberry messenger you name it… either way… you will not see me walking around with an iPhone 4 or iPhone 5, you will see me with a Blackberry 9900! Anyways, I think I am done with my rant and will go back to the original article because I know there are ALOT of Apple fans out there, and I would like to please the masses. My buddy Raj had purchased a Macbook Air a while back and just updated to this OS, he said I should check it out. I figured my readers would like to read a great article that I have read myself. Here is an insert from TechNewsWorld.com

Back to the OS itself: Lion will support a new level of multi-touch gestures, and it adds features like Mission Control, which gives you a full-system vantage point; Resume, which picks a program back up from where you last left it; and AirDrop, which assists in the sharing of data from one Mac to another.

Conceptually, Lion is meant to meld aspects of Apple’s desktop OS lineage with a few attributes picked up from iOS, its mobile device operating system. This has the potential to simplify key elements for the benefit of the overall user experience, but there’s disagreement on whether it succeeds. Critics on one side of the debate say it occasionally crosses the line from simple to simplistic, and that certain parts of a desktop OS really should be more complex than a mobile OS. Others argue that its new features are welcome improvements, even though the transition to Lion can be a little disorienting.

Apple also let fly with some new hardware this week, finally taking its MacBook Air up a notch or two. The newest versions of the ultra-thin notebooks come in 11- and 13-inch sizes, and they’ll pack Intel Sandy Bridge processors, along with 4 GB of memory. Other improvements include backlit keyboards and ports for Thunderbolt, the new double-wide data pipes Apple’s been building into its latest hardware.

I haven’t had a chance to check it out myself, as Raj has been away, so I will have to wait till her get back. Check out the full article here.

Well here is the fix for that “Apple is tracking you” Issue.

I for one don’t really care, maybe I should? Either way, once the jailbreak for this comes out I might update, until then, Apple I guess you know where I am!

Here is “what” is fixed.

Reduces the size of the cache [it's only about a weeks worth of locational data now, as opposed to many months]

No longer backs the cache up to iTunes [Your new backups will no longer contain the consolidated.db file, making it a whole lot harder for a crazy spouse to take it and throw it into a third-party mapping tool to figure out roughly where you were at any given time]

Deletes the cache entirely when Location Services is turned off

If you haven’t heard, they made a detachable keyboard called the Nuu Mini Key, I sure wouldn’t want to walk around with it attached, but if you have to bang out a big email while on the go this might be the device for you!

Check out some pics here.

So far, its bulky, keys seem a little difficult to press, and its connected via Bluetooth. There are some glaring concerns here, but if you miss the tactile feedback of a slide-out keyboard this product could be for you.

It is expected that they are going to make some changes before actually releasing to the masses.

There are other types of these devices, one of them being the Keyboard Buddy check out the review, this one looks a little better than the Nuu Mini Key, but then again, it isn’t up to me to pick for you

Seems like the Android has finally taken off, with only a few phones at the beginning of the year, now the end of 2010 and we have dozens. Samsung has release one of the better phones, although expensive, the Galaxy S.

Android phones are for the guys that refuse to conform to Apple, Blackberry, or Microsoft. It give people a very open platform to design and play on.

I personally would love one, but i am waiting to make sure they release a phone that can last more than a day before switching from my iPhone 4(which is only a couple months old, I tend to change phones every quarter!)

Anyways, you all should check out the full story of the success of the Android Phone here at CNET.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, and hope all have a Happy New Year!

I swear iOS 4.2 was just released, I am still running iOS 4.1 and do not plan to go to iOS4.2 for a little bit, the phone works fine. My guess is that they want to stop Jailbreaker’s or at least discourage them.

What’s does that have to do with iOS4.3? It’s going to let users subscribe to applications. That’s a crucial ingredient if you want to build a publication and need a constant stream of income. Many people have been saying that Apple should do to newspapers and magazines what they did to music. With iOS 4.3, if these rumors are to be believed, then it’s going to happen sooner rather than later.

Below is an insert from the Daring Fireball

Rupert Murdoch, head of the media giant News Corp, and Steve Jobs, the chief executive of Apple, are preparing to unveil a new digital “newspaper” called the Daily at the end of this month, according to reports in the US media.

I don’t know if I like the idea of paying for a subscription, now if we get a lot of content then it might be okay, but most of the 99c apps do not have the most content in them, thus they are only “99c one time”. The expected release date is December 13th 2010, yes this year.
