We saw it coming, it was inevitable, with the purchase of Instagram by Facebook, you knew they needed something, and they got it, bigger pictures, the technology behind the photo craze…

Specifically, Facebook says photos in the news feed will now be enlarged to up to 2x their previous size, and displayed in a new layout that can bring more photos from an album into the feed. Text in news feed posts is also going to be larger and wider spaced.

At the time of the mobile redesign, we said Facebook was taking a cue from Instagram, and that the change could make browsing the mobile news feed a less tiring experience. Looks like Facebook wanted to improve the Web experience in the same way, making the news feed more of an enjoyable photo viewer on its own, rather than something that just points you to a photo album elsewhere on the site. source techcrunch.com

PlayBook OS 2 is soon to be released. Want the scoop on what’s new for the PlayBook and how it interacts with social apps?

When we took our first official tour of the native messaging on BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 a month ago at CES 2012, one of the services that was missing from the social messaging integration was Facebook. We *knew* Facebook would soon be joining Twitter and LinkedIn, but it’s good to see Facebook is now there too for when the highly-anticipated PlayBook software update drops later this month. You can hit up the video above to get a quick look of the Facebook addition within the Manage Accounts option screen and integrated into the native messaging client itself.

I have a preview for you compliments of me turning on Dev mode for Facebook… check it out.

I think its pretty neat, you cannot see it here, but on the left is a slider since you joined Facebook, and you can click on any year and check out what happened back then, when you added friends, posts, pictures, it really is a digital “life book”

Anyways… have fun when you gain access to it!

So you post a bunch of pictures, some of them are questionable, you really don’t care if your “friends” see them, but what if your boss, or aunt, or mom’s best friend sees these pictures from Mexico? What will they say, oh how embarrassing… Well now you can change that, and you will be fully conscience of your decisions, because as soon as you post those “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” pictures, you will be asked, “Who would you like to allow to see these lovely pictures?”

Overall, the changes make it easier for people to understand what audience will be seeing what they post on Facebook and to control who sees what others post that refers to them. The changes will start rolling out in coming days and people will be prompted with a tour option when they are available.

Facebook users have long complained that it’s not always clear who can see what content is posted, among other concerns. Meanwhile, Google+ has been praised for avoiding some of the Facebook (and Buzz) privacy pitfallsby allowing users to easily control who they share content with. Asked if the Facebook changes were in response to Google+, a Facebook representative said no.

Best thing about this is when your buddy posts you in a less than appropriate bar night picture, you get notified of the tag and can accept it or not. Power back to the people. My suggestion, start making groups asap. Friends, Work Friends, Bosses, Family. etc. you get the point. After those groups are created you can then choose who see’s what. The Ball is back in our court. Why? Because Google was doing it and Facebook should have already been doing it.

I was browsing around and came upon an article about Google’s new Chrome Netbook. I have been looking around for an image to load up on my Acer Netbook, as it would probably run a little smoother than Windows XP, besides, all i ever used that Netbook for was playing music, watching videos, and facebook.

Anyways, back to business, I included a small insert for you to quickly read, then you can decide if you want to check out the whole article.

The Cr-48 may look like just any other laptop, but we can tell you right off the bat that it feels considerably better than most of those plastic netbooks sitting on store shelves right now. The entire body (that means the lid, edges, and the underside) is made of a soft, rubber-like matte black plastic — in fact, it feels a lot like the back of the Droid, though it feels a bit less rubbery. Overall, it looks a lot like the old black MacBook, including a magnetic latch with a split spot for getting your finger in and lifting the lid and a sunken screen hinge. We’re obviously pretty taken with the hardware design look and feel, but the laptop itself isn’t going to turn heads or win any beauty contests, and that was clearly intentional on Google’s part — remember this one isn’t for consumers, but more for those less stylish developers and early adopters.

As promised here is the article from Engadget.

Enjoy!

Mark Zuckerberg has been working on a modern messaging system that will give people the choice of where and when they want any of their emails, sms, Facebook messages, or from what it seems any messaging source. I gather this would be huge if he pulls it off, as the 500 million people who are already Facebook users, will be using the site for all other forms of communication. AOL and Google have been scrambling to catch up to what Facebook has planned, but they will most likely fall short.
