Exchange 2010 Gotcha

Exchange 2010, Exchange 2010 backup, how to backup Exchange 2010 database, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 Foundation, VSS, Windows Server Backup, Exchange Server 2003

There is currently no third party exchange aware backup software, but using Windows Server Backup, you are able to backup the data store and flush the logs. Over at Exchange.org, Henrik explains how to use Windows Server Backup to perform backups and restores using the new Exchange volume snapshot plug-in included with Exchange 2010. I included an insert to peak your interest.

But what about Exchange 2010? Will a similar plug-in be available with this Exchange Server version, which is nearing RTM? The answer is yes. And in fact this is exactly what I am going to cover in this article. So sit back and grab a nice cup of fresh coffee and carry on reading.

Check out the article here.

Lost Connection to Exchange?

Posted by: Nathan Simon
exceeded the maximum of 32 objects of type "session", View Information Store Status, Exchange Server 2003, Mailbox rights

You have a mailbox that you no longer can connect to, it either cannot connect to exchange or you may get an error stating that “MAPI Session “/o=servername/ou=first administrative group/cn=Recipients/cn=username” exceeded the maximum of 32 objects of type “session”

To fix this error go to the Mailbox store where the user is affected, right click on the store, then you need to modify the everyone permissions to allow “View Information Store Status” Once that is done the user just needs to log off and back in.
