3GB/sec is fast, I mean, right now you might be running an OCZ drive that is capable of 685MB/sec, and for me that’s fast enough. I know there are some people out there that want to run this thing in their home computers, and kudos to you if you do so.
When they do arrive they will be released in in 400GB, 800GB and 1.6TB sizes. Over the next several years, Samsung expects to continue to develop a variety of NVMe SSD products with increasingly high performance levels.
Can you imagine how this will make database servers run, these drives could probably handle a couple thousand VDI machine boot storm as well… man I would love to try that out some day!
