The way acquisitions are happening, there is discontent among the employees. Many are being fired, many have been forced to move to a different organizations. Just because company is spending a lot in acquisitions; its unable to keep pace with the market standards and employee enthusiasm is going down. Not sure how long this would help the company grow at the pace, they boast of.

I can look back at once being an Oracle employee and then building a career around Oracle products. But with all of the acquisitions I wonder how many employment opportunities Oracle actually creates for talented individuals outside of the talent pool it acquires?

It might be very interesting to learn that Oracle's gust for being number one comes at a price of not creating enough job opportunities for outside talent it would normally have to train, that could then be part of the Oracle success story and legacy as Oracle continues with acquisitions.

Soon however comes the day after Oracle buys up all it can, that they realize customers are job seekers too. Could it be only then that Oracle launches an all out hiring campaign and we see lots of press editorials about Oracle's economic stimulus package for the failing job market, and that they're now the number one hiring company in the world with annual hiring records surpassing any other company?

Wouldn't that be nice for customers that can now look to Oracle for lower bill rates due to an enormous talent pool that Oracle has amassed?

We should certainly see at that time an all out suite to follow attitude by other companies to bring jobs home-shore. After all we're all customers of each other. Could this then be a sign of the times?

I can bragg about oracle on and on because I have worked in oracle environment since last 20 years and practically grown career-wise using Oracle products. 20 years ago Oracle had Slogan 'GO FOR THE GOLD'. Employees were given gold coins just for being billable for the quarter. I still treasure those coins. At that time I believed in Larry Ellison and was deeply appreciative of his efforts. As time has passed my faith in oracle has been stronger and stronger.
Their employees are very motivated and go out of their way to support customer.
