Linux timeline

Click the image above for an expanded, full size view of the Linux distribution timeline. On a related note, the image brings up an interesting point about fragmentation, doesn’t it? I’ll be digging into that topic a little bit deeper than with just an image later on, so stay tuned.

This looks good for the most part. Maybe some fudging here and there with actual time lines and progeny but good enough to be a fair representative of a good portion of the distros. I find it interesting (and personally sightly humorous) the time line for United Linux. And, FWIW, Caldera started life as Corsair but changed names when they got to its first RC.
