A defeat for the good guys. As a Windows developer, I know first hand it isn’t about the OS (operating system). it’s all about change. People are too lazy to take a few days (or weeks) to learn a new OS. Let’s take Vista for example: It’s really not a bad OS and has a lot of cool features but it’s different and people struggle with it causing negative reactions.

Now lets look at the $200 machine listed above. An awsome deal to say the least. I bought one of these babies and have been trying to convince my boss to throw away the Windows desktop ever since. Windows cleint server development has turned to all web-based applications in the past few years and all of my apps rock in this $200 special. It has been an issue that our in-house apps wouldn’t work in linux in the past. However, that has changed and the time is for an easy to use system such as the one listed above is now.
