[...] Linux Done Right: A user’s pleasant surprise — Enterprise Linux Log Consider this the first in an occasional, meandering series of articles on Linux done right. These aren’t meant to boost the sales of any particular vendor, but instead are meant to show other end users, IT managers and decision makers what to look for when vetting applications and operating system migrations. It can be support, migrations strategies, execution or anything and everything in between. If it’s Linux done right, then you’ll find it here. [...]

"Flores said he and his staff tested SQL Server and were uncomfortable with the way that the software wanted to take over domains and become the domain controller"

Either he was misquoted or he has no idea what he is talking about. That statement doesn't even make sense, SQL Server doesn't have the ability to be a DC...its a database.

"The clutter was quickly becoming a maintenance issue for the IT staff"

Its also sloppy journalism to imply that Windows sucks because the 10 year OS & hardware falls down every two weeks. Anyone still running NT 4 is not interested in maintenance.

And his dept of "server specialist" picked Xandros which is a desktop distro.

No training budget for SQL Server but switching to Linux and a new database, MySQL?, requires no training?

Sloppy article

Some typing errata:
"woudl" in subheading 2, paragraph 3.
"“day of two”" in subheading 3, paragraph 10.

Any open positions for a proofreader? :)
Nice article though, despite being a shameless "Xanros infomercial".
