I've refused to use chip and PIN since it was released and so far have managed to get card issuers to issue a chip and signature card. I remember some years ago talking to a colleague over drinks after work when he insisted I was paranoid over my concerns regarding PIN security. I just looked at him and said that if 5630 had any significance to him he might want to rethink (that was the PIN to his platinum card that I'd seen him key in a few minutes previously). Someone with more sinister motives could have done so much more harm, and if he had several cards in his wallet it's a fair bet that all the PINs will be the same. I found it telling when a customer service agent suggested I set all my PINs to be the same because I couldn't remember them all, but when I asked if she'd be willing to put that in writing she declined. I wonder why...
