Michael Tidmarsh Profile: Michael Tidmarsh
During a recent meeting with the media, Cisco executives said they are looking to double their software business over the next five years through acquisitions and emerging technology (especially software-defined networking). Do you think this new strategy will work for Cisco? Could it backfire on the company?

They will tell you it's Cisco InterCloud, which is Cisco technology on-prem and Cisco-enabled Cloud SPs, all linked together, all running Cisco technology on both ends.

Link status on Cisco 3110G and IBM BladeCenter H - HS22 and 23 blades

Hello everyone, We have a problem with our BladeCenter chasis and mentioned Cisco switches. The problem is that our Cisco switches do not see link status changes when our blade servers go up or down, or when our network card/interface goes bad - and because of this reason etherchannel is not handling one interface outgate properly. Anyone having experience with this problem? Profile: hyzko123

Actually, we're not trying to make analytics quicker. We can already get near-instant reports, including charts and comparisons that are produced on demand based on the criteria we set, and I don't see any value in checking things more often than I currently am unless we're starting up a new advertising campaign and want to tweak it as it goes. After all, I still have to pay attention to the rest of the business and make decisions about how to proceed - I'm more interested in increasing the accuracy of reports and obtaining reliable predictions than improving the speed of analytics.
